I'm sure you've all heard the great news of AC MILAN WINNING THE 2007 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL
against Liverpool. The two goals from Milan were scored by our very own Filippo Inzaghi
, which further solidifies his position as the top Italian goalscorer in European competition level. His two goals brought Milan to its 7th Champions League victory in the "revenge" match against Liverpool that deafeated them 2 years ago in the same competition at the same level. Filippo Inzaghi was also named Man of the Match
and he has received the highest ratings from various Italian newspapers and websites for his brilliant performance in the match.( Pippo's 1st goalCollapse )( Pippo's 2nd goalCollapse )
As I did not watch the whole match, I could not comment a lot about the game. All I know was that Liverpool was definitely more aggressive and perhaps even had more ball possession. But I guess nothing beats Milan for its quality. What I find interesting is that - because I watched the game on ESPN, which is an English-language channel - all the commentators and football experts were rooting for Liverpool, the English team. Not many were rooting for Milan. Some did say that it was 50-50 but apparently more consideration was given towards Liverpool to with the match. However, as it turns out, despite being a well-balanced match (and a clean one, too, IMHO) Milan emerged as the victors.
Nonetheless, props to Liverpool too! Better luck next time.
And now, I'll leave you to bask in the glory of the Champions League victory as Milan and Pippo fans. I'm going to gather some photo links. I don't have time to post all the pictures myself so I'll let you know where you can get the pics and then save them on your own.
